I guess it all depends on just how much longer you would like to live?? It's your decision. I have always heard that having a near death experience( Heart surgery?) helps to focus the mind.
Hi there,
Ok firstly, no one is going to live forever. You have a second chance to change, it all depends how much you wish to change and the quality of life you want to have. If you want yo continue drinking beer and eatingsweet stuff then realise it's going to cause you issues. So, cut down, get some exercise routines in, to counter the effects of the treats, and yes consider them treats.
Personally I'd rather have quality of life, it's not a dress rehearsal this is the one you have, your choice how you live it.
Good luck
Mark
My cardiologist'd view was that a pint of beer, a glass of wine or a double malt three or four times a week was fine. Beyond that it can effect the balance of the meds.
A colleague's father is four decades post bypass but follows the rules ( doing well in his monitors). However, I know of people who thought they could carry on as usual and needed further treatment or died within a few years. Someone told me I have now been cured - NO I have had a quadruple bypass but CVD is forever!
Hi there, have you been referred to cardiac rehab? This will give you the tools to change if you want to. They gie advice and you get to exercise too. Best of luck xx
