Anyone else still suffer with memory recall this far after AVR or any heart surgery? l had a very embarrassing encounter yesterday at my local surgery while waiting for a routine warfarin blood check. A smiling woman in her late forties along with her elderly Mother spoke to me "hello Sue how are you?" l looked at her blankly because l didn't know who the hell she was then l explained about the trauma l had been through and she was sympathetic. "sorry how do l know you?" l replied with a flushed face. She then spoke to me very slowly and in a loud voice as if l was deaf "l AM CAROLINE", well as you can imagine that made no difference to me at all she might as well have said she knew me from our days in the Circus when we rode Elephants together for all the good it did!!! l had a overpowering urge to sing "pop goes the weasel" over and over again with a demented smile on my face. (ln the week l watched a old "road to" film with Bob Hope where he sang that rhyme on a loop to pretend he was totally insane) l think maybe l am and l will never get my memory back. Any advice please to conquer this will be wonderful. Take care one and all Sue x
