New beginnings

Hello it’s been a long time since I last posted anything but quite a lot has happened,

I completed my cardiac rehab and received a certificate to prove this. I had had doubts at first but in the end carried on and I am very happy I did and the team at Hull University are fantastic without there support I know everything would be so different. I was also on a clinical trial to see the difference in HIIT training and normal cardiac rehab training, this is random and I was on the HIIT which was hard work but very rewarding as when I started my weight was 108kg but now is down to 101.2 the only bad thing is the Watt bike that’s used because the seat is very uncomfortable,

So now I am also back working in a new job at a offshore logistics warehouse for one of the largest renewable energy companies and after only a week it’s fantastic I am a contractor with a six months to one year contract but it so exciting and is about to get very busy,

Wow so if anyone had said that last year I am going to have a heart attack, then recover loose weight and change my lifestyle I don’t think I would have believed them oh and yes I told everyone about my heart attack in March and only received positive responses, so if anyone is in the same place as me take all the help you can get from everybody including family and friends and the wonderful NHS because they not only saved my life they help me change it.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave. Great to hear you have had such a positive outcome. Brilliant to know you’re back at work and doing so well. Weight loss great keep it up. It will be interesting to see the outcome of that clinical trial could change rehab courses in the future or at least give options. Take care. Zena x

Hi Zena

Thanks for your kind words, I am having so much fun and getting paid as well what’s not to love.

Yes about the HIIT as far as I know early indications show better results but obviously some people may struggle so we will hopefully find out more when the research has been compiled, yes I would assume a choice may be the best way.

Thanks Dave

Just watched Trust me I’m a Doctor they looked at cardiac rehab interestingly 50% of people don’t take it up! But next week they are looking at splitting up exercise into smaller chunks. So that maybe interesting to watch. I think Dave you must be the most enthusiastic person about their job. Really good that you have such a fun job. Has to be good for your heart. Cheers. Zena
