Hello I have just been told I have left bundle block and am 49 years old. Is there anyone else who has this at my age... I'm due to see a cardiologist by the end of the month. Is it due more than likely to coronary heart disease.??? Thankyou.
Left bundle block : Hello I have just... - British Heart Fou...
Left bundle block
Bundle branch blocks, right or left can be related to age or to various heart disease. Normally an echocardiogram is done to see what else is going on with the heart that may be a causal factor.
I was diagnosed with a right bundle branch block in January this year and the echo showed normal heart functioning, so in my case it was attributed to age. Subsequently in March this year I had a mild heart attack and was diagnosed with coronary artery disease. Having an echo next week to confirm normal heart function.
I hope this info helps.
I was diagnosed with left bundle branch block after a general anaesthetic when l was 54. Following various tests l was told it could be genetic. After got results was placed on medication. I am now 75 and still taking same medication securon sr which is verapamil. Recently had ct scan and no problems with arteries. I feel mine was caused by anaesthetic given for a sinus clean. Hope that will reassure you a bit. I have bronchiectasis and rheumatoid arthritis too. Are you on any medication? Regards Maureen x
Thankyou Maureen.. No I'm not on anything yet. I have had an echo following an abnormal arrhythmia prior to a general anaesthetic... Seeing cardiologist end of August. I hope you are o. K. I think I just need to see him now as all sorts of things are going round in my head!!!! Xxxx
Hello! I was diagnosed with LBBB and subsequently with viral myocarditis and moderate/severe heart failure after an echocardiogram in early June. Angiogram showed no cardiovascular disease and MRI confirmed the diagnosis. I was in hospital for 8 days.
The only symptoms I had were feeling as if I had flu with a very sore throat for 3 days.
I'm 64 and pretty fit (I was chasing my grandsons around 24 hours earlier). It's come as a huge shock because two months on I can barely walk 200 yards without becoming very breathless , the fatigue is like nothing I've ever experienced before.
I'm on beta blockers, ACE inhibitor, Furosemide, Aspirin, Avastastatin and I see the consultant again next week.
The damage to my left ventricle is 'considerable' and I can only hope it's reversible!
Thankyou Serg... Hope you O. K. X
I only turned 48 in June this year and was diagnosed with LBBB back in 2017 with no further follow up. Mentioned this again to my GP and she said she would refer me back but nothing as yet
