This insurance scheme has been mentioned a number of times on the forum sometimes with the implication there are no medical questions. So looking forward I thought maybe my girlfriend could join and looked at their website. Whilst there are no direct health questions in the T's & C's you must be 'Fit to Travel' and I have cut 'n' pasted below. As I read it if you are undergoing investigation or have just had a procedure you probably do not satisfy the criteria. Not asking your doctor does not mean you are fit to travel!

Please note I am not having a go at the WI scheme as I have seen similar on the bulk travel insurance offered by banks and others. Remember if a company decide not to pay out it could prove a very expensive lesson!

You must be ‘Fit to Travel’ defined as:

– If you had contacted your medical practitioner prior to booking your planned trip, and before the trip departure, he/she would not have advised against travel and/or between booking and departure any and all pre-existing medical conditions must be stable and well-controlled both as to the individual condition and treatment(s) thereof and/or there exists no known likelihood of any medical tests, investigations or major variation of treatment or medication between booking travel and the date of departure or whilst travelling

I would have thought that anyone looking for travel insurance should be looking to actually speak to their chosen insurer as I accept you cannot just tell everything on an internet site. I have been quoted some £1500 for travel to Spain for a week but a friend put me on to Insurewith who came in over £1200 cheaper for the same cover. It was then easier to speak to them to confirm I had told them everything they needed to know to ensure I would still be covered.
