I had mine fitted 8 weeks ago and feel stabbing pains right across my chest (not always in the pacemaker site) ..they don't last long but are like needle points....I also get a pulling sensation.... It was scary at first as I thought something was up. At pacing clinic, on here and through talking to a friend who had surgery in the chest, I now understand that the chest has many nerves which our proceedure naturally effects and these need time to heal.... sometimes months... The op is very much under-played but it is still invasive and will naturally take time to repair. Just make sure your pain /discomfort isn't from wound infection. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi i had mine fitted 10 weeks ago and still have a pulling sensation across my chest and small stabbing pains intermittently. I agree that the op is played down but i had some spectacular bruising when it was first fitted. Im sure it will settle down for you soon.

I had an ICD implant on March 5th and I still have some pain occasionally, it's just one of those things as your body gets used to it being there. My consultant has changed my blood pressure tablets to entresto and these are a more up to date treatment than ramaprill as they have a protective effect on the heart muscles.

Since I have been on these I have had a considerable reduction in pain. Take care and I hope this reply helps.

Absolutely normal, I’m three months in now and my scar is very tender to touch, if you have any concerns contact your cardio nurses.
