Hi Everyone,
On the 19th July will be exactly 1 year ago I had heart surgery for an aortic root replacement and aortic valve repair. It’s been a topsy tervy rollercoaster of a ride this past year. Heart wise seems ok according to my cardiologist who I saw in February and I see her again end of next month. I had an MRI contrast of my heart, coronary arteries, my artificial aortic root and the rest of my aorta. I shall know the results when I go and see my cardiologist next month. I haven’t heard anything so I presume everything is ok.!
But, I’ve been suffering from a lot of bloated feeling for quite sometime. It gets that bad that it becomes very uncomfortable and makes me tight chested. It’s difficult to breathe properly too. I get it mostly in the upper abdomen exactly where I had 3 chest drains inserted during surgery. I’ve discussed it with my GP and he can’t prescribe me anything because I’m already prescribed a stomach coating drug called Omeprezole because of all the medication I’m on, and it wouldn’t do any good anyway. I thought perhaps it’s all the scar tissue from all the surgery I’ve had.?
Has anyone else experienced this problem after their heart surgery and can shed some light on it as to what it is or could be please. I never had the problem before the surgery.! Never suffered from a bloated feeling in my life.
Thank you,
Liam.
