Following on from my previous posts I have my test results back and would appreciate any feed back
Results as follows
Mild leak mitral valve
Lad and circumflex tortuous arteries ?
Consultant phoned as my results were not sent out to me due to error and I chased them up and didn't seem concerned which I am taking as a positive sign
He said no major heart issues and leaky valve very common , wants me to remain on bisoprolol and statins as bp still a concern with gp monitoring which is fantastic news and am very relieved
Would appreciate any feedback if these results could relate to my symptoms of breathless on excertion, lightheadedness, pAlpitations with/without excertion and was experiencing left Side chest pain altho since I have been on beta blocker this is now very rare as still experiencing these
Am now working on reducing my bp by natural methods such as diet and excercise and trying to maintain a zen like state !!
Many thanks in advance for your help/advice
Wishing you a happy healthy evening

A mildly leaky mitral valve is pretty common. Initially, mine was found to be moderately leaky and was monitored annually for about 6 years. It has now progressed to almost severe so I will need surgery sometime. Currently on 6 monthly echos and just waiting for my latest results.
I don't really have any symptoms, but that's not unusual even with a severe leak.
That’s good to hear that your GP can monitor and manage this. Your leaky mitral valve can causes symptoms of fatigue, shortness of breath and palpitations so these are symptoms that can relate to this. For mild leakage, treatment is usually not necessary. We have lots of information about valve disease and treatment on our website that you may find useful. I would ask your doctor whether you will have another heart scan in a year’s time to monitor the valve as this is commonly done.
It’s fantastic that you are going to work on your diet, exercise and mental wellbeing as these are crucial for good heart health and your blood pressure.
