The Sweats

Have been diagnosed for a number of years with American Type 2 heart failure and am still after an answer to the sweats .Heart failure clinic at local hospital listen to what I say when asked any problems, I suggest the sweats and all that happens they listen. There cant only be me that's suffering with the sweats and also its nice to see BHF is ploughing money into research into projects but it appears if you have had a heart attack then treatment and answers are a lot more forthcoming but the sweats go undetected or forgotten, was wondering if there were anyone out there whose had/ got the sweats under going treatment for them

I believe that I have sweats connected to my heart problems, I also feel weak at the same time and then was passing out. I believe it is all connected.

i had similar condition to what sam295 had. The sweats went away as soon as my heart problem was addressed (Stents).

Hope this helps.

Hi, fainting is called syncope but there is another form of syncope that I have and it occurs if I have exceeded my energy level. I don't get much notice, maybe a 2 or 3 minutes then I start to feel nauseous which can follow on with vomiting. At the same time I come out in a hot sweat, mainly my head, I have Essential tremor and my shaking doubles its worst rate. If I can't sit down very quickly I also get gut pain and possibly diarrhoea I have Atrial Fibrillation. The syncope is usually treated with a beta-blocker, in my case it is a small dose of Metoprolol. I can't have a stronger dose because I have low blood pressure. I have to say that horrible as the symptoms are at least they are better than fainting(passing out). I have just bought a walking sticking with a seat attached (not a shooting stick, more comfortable). I will take that in my shopping trolley in future, so that I can sit down wherever I am.

Hi I don’t have an answer for you but I am the same undergoing tests, so I’m at early stages but the sweats are terrible. I will see if I can get any answers when I go to the hospital next week.

I have aortic stenosis, discovered initially at 56. I also have terrible hot sweats, mainly the head area, where it is dripping off me whether the weather is hot or cold. I asked my doctor and he said he didn't know what caused it. That he had 7 people in that day with the same symptoms. I guess I'll have to wait until surgery eventually and I'll know if it was connected. If anyone knows any different, I'll be glad to hear.
