My husband has Aspergillosis and Emphysema , raise right sided heart pressure , weaker left side and leaky tricuspid valve . He is concerned as to what exercise he can do . He did a pulmonary rehab course in Feb . which went ok . But then his chest consultant sent him for the ultrasound which revealed the heart problems and the lung problems putting a strain on the heart . Not sure where we are at with all this .

Hi Daisy, Sorry to hear of your husband's problems. My husband is the usual poster on here as he has heart problems and had prostate cancer but he passed your post on to me as I have Aspergillosis and an aspergillus growth in one lung which has been successfully treated with Itraconazole tablets. I have had Asthma all my life, then developed Bronchiectasis and then the Aspergillosis - diagnosed back in 2015 but I think I had it not long afte the bronchiectasis in 2011 as despite trying lots of different inhalers I just didn't get any improvement. If anything I was getting worse. Pleased to say the Itraconazole has improved everything. I go to the National Aspergillosis Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital Manchester - a long way for me to travel but my local hospital knew absolutely nothing about Aspergillosis and the growth and would have cut part of my lung away but the tablets have meant that the growth has now almost disappeared. However, at my last visit a year ago they found my blood pressure was high - up until then it had been really good and I was checking every so often at home (as advised by a young friend who suffered a heart attack he thought he could have avoided by regularly checking his blood pressure) but we were staying with friends while our new house was being finished and hadn't checked for a couple of months. Checking my blood pressure now and it has not got better. Had hoped that after the stress of moving house it would get better but maybe this is just the result of a life time of lung problems and taking inhalers. I always think a little exercise is better than none even if you just take numerous short walks "around the block" 4 10 minute walks a day is better than none. My Gran always said moderation in all things better to do a little and often than none at all.
