Angina Symptoms after heart bypass.

My mum had triple heart bypass december after a heart attack. Her symptoms prior to attack was what we thought were indegestion. She was admitted into hospital four weeks prior to heart attack and they couldnt find anything wrong and told her to visit go is symptoms persist so when she had heart attack she was waiting on cardiology. Anyway following heart bypass been suffering breathlessness on exertion her doctor thought it was her medication but she went back to cardiologist and again thought medication but wanted a heart scan been waiting on that. Last night was took to hospital in ambulance as same symptoms of heart attack ecg shows change since last visit to hospital. However stats were fine and blood test shows not a heart attack however pain relief only taking her pains off slightly. Doctors in a&e not concerned and said that if bloods in the night show fine they will send her home and saids its angina. If that is the case does this mean her arteries are blocked again so back to square 1. Unhappy they are going to send her home so quickly in light of revent history.

Only way to know if the arteries are blocked is with an Angiogram. As it was explained to me, the blood work for the heart will show if the heart is under extreme stress and cells are dying (i.e. from a heart attack and not getting enough oxygen). If it was Angina, then something like a Nitrate spray should relieve the symptoms, but, I am no doctor, just someone who went through the pain and operations. I'd challenge the doctors / hospital to find the root cause and you can ask about an angiogram to confirm the bypass worked.

On her discharge notes it mentioned heart failure. So has been suscribed a water tablet and a long lasting angina tablet. She has a echo in a few weeks so not sure where we go from here.
