After a night spent in hospital due to pain/ache in my shoulder neck jaw the Doctor said it was most probably musc skeletal pain and was prescribed paracetamol and ibuprofen gel , I asked if it was the statin he said possibly but you must take them for a year
I am 3 months post sent now and Every day I feel something , the aching is worse and also the dizziness debilitating I feel a wreck, yet all my tests are excellent it all feels so mad

Third time I presented to A&E, with chest pains (not my call, friends called 999) I was initially told by the Reg. that bloods gave a minor indication of MI, not a lot, but more than expected. Following morning a very condescending Cardiologist told me it was indigestion (it was not!) And that would not explain the bloods, so easily dismissed.
I had already reduced my Statins to a minimum, (under GP supervision) because of my persistent chest pain. Several months later, I requested a change of BP meds because of another, known, side effect. Chest pain vanished! (No medical staff seem the slight bit interested in a potentially unknown, unreported, side effect of Ramipril)
To be honest I did not look at contra indications etc as sometimes it makes you worse ,and one nurse says says it's one thing another completely different ! Oh it's anxiety well it's not always !We know how we feel , so I will give it another month and insist the stains are changed
I think that is the right course of action. There are a number of statins out there and they are not all the same. Hopefully there will be one that you tolerate better than your current one.
