Has anyone had a mammogram since they got their pacemaker. I am due one and a bit concerned as I have found them really uncomfortable before and now think the pacemaker could be in the way

Mammogram
Hi Heather, I was called for a pilot scheme of offering mammograms at a lower age. Because of my ICD I was really concerned and wasn't sure whether to decline as I was just one of a small number picked at random, but I went ahead and it was fine. Obviously do tell them as they need to do the ICD side slightly differently, but it was no problem. I still have some discomfort since having my ICD implanted 2 years ago, which made me more concerned, but it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Hope that helps.
HI, I have been having the same concerns. I am due one in a couple of months. Last time I also had to undergo further x Ray's and biopsies. The whole experience was extremely uncomfortable.
I only had my pacemaker fitted 4 months ago, and it's still quite sore around that area of chest.
Please can you let us know how it goes?
Take care x
Hi.. I've had a couple and it's not been a problem. Mammograms are uncomfortable at the best of times; like sticking your boob in a fridge door! Try not not worry as tension will make it harder.
