Clots and HRT

Has anyone got any advice or info that may help me, recently had cardioversion all went well and still in normal rhythm, however after another heart scan my consultant has found that the right side of my heart is still enlarge so is sending me for a CT scan of my lungs as he suspects maybe clot or clots . So went to get another prescription for HRT from Gp who has refused to give to me as until I have had scan and they confirm no clots I am at risk. Would even give me mild anti depressants to help with menopause. Any suggestions or advice out there?

I am so sorry. I too am on HRT and would hate to be without it. There are a lot of herbal remedies out there but I would not take them without running them past your doctor first. Hopefully you will get your scan quickly and can go back onto HRT. Just remember if you start getting upset that your lack of hormones will be to blame and it is normal not to feel on top of the world when they are all over the place. Good luck,

I recall an item on the BBC a few years ago where a rigorous study showed that there was an increased risk of over 1% of blood clots and/or stroke during HRT treatment. Therefore your GP is only being sensible and in fact as you have suspected blood clots negligent if he issued a prescription. As commented your first focus has to be your heart!

Thanks I'm sure he is right just feeling very out of control at the moment.

My heart condition won’t allow me to be on antidepressants and I’m not bothered about that fact as I’d rather go down the therapery route anyway. I see it as God making u open up instead of taking the easy route. Sorry i can’t spell.

Thanks not a lover of anti depressants but clutching at straws, things are out of my control and not sure that I like it.
