I recently had a HA thinking it was just like an ulcer pain left it until the pain was unbearable. Saw the GP next day who then gave me a letter for A&E. Went to A&E ended up with 5 stents fitted next day. Question where do I go for rehab or exercise no ones contacted me and I have no information as to what I can or cannot do. Get short of breath easily and also aching feeling on left side of chest can any enlighten me please is this normal

Thank you

Hi Amesh, call up the cardio ward you were treated in and ask if this is provided in your area.

The shortness of breath may be a side effect of your meds but pain in your chest needs to be checked out, either A&E or again the cardio ward.

Good luck

Mark

Hi Amesh. Good advice to get back to your GP, with all your questions in a row! Any new pains need checking out, but this time, dont wait 24hrs.

However, I also had 5 stents in one go, and my chest was pretty uncomfortable for a good few months. Worse lying on my left side. I gather they can take some time to settle down.

Good luck.

Thanks Kristen will take your advice and write down the questions I have and see what the GP can answer. Defo won't wait !!! Contacted the hospital cardio rehab nurse. Been told as short staffed I am being referred to the hospital in Northampton will have to wait to get a place. I agree my chest feels tight at times and uncomfortable like an itch inside not painful peace of mind as you say will settle down

Thank you

Hi Amesh. I hope Northampton isn’t too far for you, or too long to wait, as just about everyone here has found the rehab really, really helpful.

Do tell us how you get on. Kristin.

Thanx not too far about 12 mile no date as yet fingers crossed soon as you say everyone has good things to say about the rehab. I also need to do the treadmill test and ECG in order to get my truck licence back as no work no pay for Christmas and no date as to when I can do this
