My oxygen levels, according to the oximeter, have been as low as 95/. Does this indicate that there isn’t enough oxygen rich blood getting through to my veins etc? Is it a bad sign? Is there any device which would accurately reveal this?

Oximeter readings?
When I hospital I was told they looked for oxygen saturation levels to be 95% or higher - so I'd say that at 95%, you are fine. Immediately post op and after a nights attempted sleep, mine were regularly down around 92% and I was told to sit-up and take a few deep breaths (in through my nose, out through my mouth). It did the trick and the numbers would rise to 96-98%.
You can buy these little gadgets on Amazon for around £15. I regularly check mine, just to give me a little bit more assurance that everything is as it should be (it is )

Thanks, stevejb1810. That does reassure me somewhat. I have read that using breathing techniques can help increase oxygen levels into your body, so that is definitely good advice.
I hope everything is now fine in your own life and that your health is now back to its prime.
I will buy one of those gadgets. Thanks for the advice..
Hi there,

I have a heart condition but I also have some medical training.
We like it to be above 95% or above saturation
But 92% not to bad just a little low possibly because of your condition.
Breathing techniques would help raise this.
It becomes serious if it drops below 85% this is called critical hypoxia.
The device if u wish to purchase is called a pulse oximeter.
U simply place on a finger tip shines infra red light through skin.
Will give you a reading of your pulse rate and oxygen saturation in your blood In%
Thanks for that clarification, BigT2013. Confirms that 95% is okay. And yes, breathing techniques are definitely something I need to include within my daily routine to help raise this level.. Thanks for the details on the pulse oximeter. ..
Also Pulse oximeters are usually pretty accurate.
Even cheaper ones are exactly the same as those used on ambulances or in hospital they are just more portable( just a finger probe)
Hospital and ambulance type are usually part of heart monitor or blood pressure monitor.
