Recurrent Pericarditis

Hi, Im hoping there are people out there who could offer a bit of support.

I've had chest pain on and off for at least 8 years and was finally diagnosed with Pericarditis after being hospitalised with chest pain nearly 3 years ago. I've had a CT , MRI, several echos and lots of ECGs and bloods and basically told to that my Pericarditis is idiopathic (I may just have a funny immune system) and to continue taking medication - Colchicine, Naproxen and Bisoprolol with the hope that it clears up eventually. Is there any hope that it will eventually get better, or do I just expect to live with this forever?

Hello Frannie and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. There are a few threads on here

The BHF has some useful information here bhf.org.uk/heart-health/con... and here bhf.org.uk/~/media/files/pu...

The nurses on here can also provide some help and advice as can their helpline Heart Helpline on 0300 330 3311

Welcome Frannie,

So sorry to hear that you have Pericarditis, I’m afraid I don’t have any advice as not familiar with this condition.

I’m sure you will hear from others in the same boat on this wonderful forum.

All the best,

Dory ❤️💕❣️
