Hi, two years on from heart attack and 4xCABG. How often should my GP carry out BP/Blood tests, annually?

If they are anything like most GPs mentioned on here you will have to push to ask for these tests to be done. BP, I think, should be done on every visit, bloods annually

I believe blood tests are done annual if you are on Spironlectone or Eplerenone I think that BP should be done to help sort out medication, are you on repeat prescriptions ? if you are it should prompt GP to check you out.

BUT if you have any change in symptoms you should contact GP or

Dr Google who seems to be the way forward !!!!

Regards

Hello there - for anyone who's had a heart attack and/or heart surgery we'd always recommend seeing your GP for a general check up at least once a year. This would usually include checking your blood pressure and cholesterol as well as some general bloods. It's also good to review your medications at these appointments and see if any changes need to be made.

Hope this helps.

Take care,

Chris
