Go and see your GP who will go through it with you. If you are at all worried about symptoms call an ambulance.

Hi, most if not all on here are on statins, side effects vary from person to person though I haven't heard of the burning sensation you mention. As for your spray, use it , it's there for those times and it works

I was told by my doctor when first prescribed the under the tongue spray if it's angina the spray will work if it's not it won't. I would say use the spray even if you are unsure. If you are worried call an ambulance.

If in doubt use the spray and see if it helps. At least it'll be trial and error.

I have been on statins for 5 years since diagnosed with diabetes and had a few muscular problems and changed statins and now have no issues.

The pain you are describing does not sound like a side effect of the statins but I am not an expert.

You can phone NHS direct if concerned but as I said try the spray to see if it stops the pain. I never needed to use the spray but apparently it can leave you with a headache just so you are prepared.

Hi.. I also was diagnosed with angina 2 years ago and can remember the shock to this day, so I fully understand how your feeling. The spray I'm assuming is a gtn spray.. Use it is my advice, it won't hurt you and at best may relieve this pain. As a female my pain was in my back and pushed through to my chest.. It's taken 2 years but it's now controlled pretty well with drugs and I don't use my gtn spray. Take time to get your head around it, I'm still working on that Lol... Your only at the beginning of your diagnostic journey so my advice is, if in doubt visit your doctor.. Don't worry about 'causing a fuss'.. What your experiencing is real and you will need help and most of all.. Be a little selfish and take time for yourself. I hope this helps.

So I spoke with my consultant who allowed me to contact him if I had questions and he put it all in perspective, th
