Hello. I am mum to a gorgeous 6 month old boy who is waiting for heart surgery. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot antenatally but has been healthy with no blue periods. We were called in for pre-admission yesterday, so are now just waiting for confirmation of a date. The NHS staff we have seen have all been great and wonderfully caring to my son and my husband and I. We haven't met any other Fallot babies but have heard lots of reassuring stories, which is why forums like this are so positive.

Awaiting op date
Welcome. I am a 20 year old who had Fallots repaired in 1997. I am also waiting for my op date for an open heart pulmonary valve replacement +/- a couple of other things. I had my pre-admission on the 8th june.
Hi Anna - so happy to hear that your little boy has been doing well. I can't imagine how you must be feeling ahead of his surgery, and I do hope you've had all the information and support that you need.
In case it's useful for you, here's a link to our booklet on Tetralogy of Fallot: bhf.org.uk/publications/chi...
There are loads of really positive stories out there - we are so much better at treating babies with heart conditions now and ensuring that they live a long and healthy life. The outcomes for Fallot's are overwhelmingly positive, and the numbers seem to be improving year on year.
Take care, Chris
Thank you Chris. We actually had a phone call today and surgery is scheduled for Monday. Now lots to prepare both practically and emotionally.
The booklet is great, especially the diagram.
Thank you.
I’m assuming your baby has now had his surgery? Have you anything positive to share? We have pre op assessment next week and I’m incredibly anxious xx
