Pain and swelling in my ankles
Oh Judi, gosh yes. That’s where my issues began. It was chronic plantar fasciitis ovet 2 yrs, then it was swelling (huge) in my left ankle but no pain, then I broke out with Palmoplantar Pustular Psoriasis. Bingo - Psoriatic Arthritis diagnosis. I still mainly only get swelling in that ankle. Try to stay off it and ice it 20 minutes at a time. I have been on prednisone to calm everything down - I now refuse that drug. Since the psoriasis has been so severe the docs have had me on every biologic on the market and since some of them also treated the arthritis part, they helped the ankle too. But they did nothing for the 5 kinds of psoriasis I have ended up with. Unfortunately I am currently taking Tremfya which does nothing for the arthritis or ankle. My feet once were a 9 1/2, are now 11 1/2 and the left is size 12. I cannot take NSAIDs. Mostly I just endure the pain of the left ankle, and walk carefully, bad days with a cane. I am in my 50’s.
So sorry, it’s definitely no fun. Hope your swelling goes down for you.
Hi
Yep me too I’m afraid I’ve have severe psoriasis for all of my life plus I’ve Psa and fibo my joints are swollen 95 per cent of time. I’m now on Dmards for my arthritis which has cleared all my psoriasis which is a bonus in itself. Best tip I can say is rest them up has much has you can. I would pop and see Gp too. 🙂
Hi Judi, Yes the ankle pain for me had been going strong for 19 months brought on after thyroidectomy I currently walk with a cane since Psoriatic Arthritis had invaded my knees. I'm going to try Cosentyx...I pray this works I'm 48 yrs old going on 70...awful.
