Psoriatic arthritis

My rheumatologist said my finger joint pain may reflect a seronegative pattern of psoriatic arthritis. Not quite sure what it means. Does anyone understand? I don't have psoriasis but my aunt does. I do have autoimmune diseases xx

Hi Lewchar18

I was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis nearly 4 years ago with no obvious sign of psoriasis.

Seronegative simply means you don't have rheumatoid factor showing in your blood but this does not mean you don't necessarily have inflammatory arthritis going on.

I was diagnosed through MRI scans of my feet and hands. I also had other auto immune conditions prior to diagnosis.

Best wishes.

Thanks for your reply. I've found out that there are more people in my family with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis too. Just another thing to add to my list of problems.
