Quite often you hear about the spoon theory and people saying they could do with extra for the day. I've attached a photo that simplifies the theory for all you Newbies but also a reminder to us Oldies.

Spoon Theory
Georje,
I think this is probably very good, but I can't read the fine print too well. I can't make my screen magnify it for some reason. So..mechanical error on my end. Otherwise, the chart looks good and makes sense.
I would assign more spoons for some tasks than what are on the chart, but that's how we each would personalize it and explain it to the people we know. It's a good visual tool for explaining the concept to others. You are good at finding these great teaching tools! Thank you.
Yes the idea is to personalise to yourself, you get 15 spoons per day and how your feeling that day you equate the spoons to each task. Take today for me I've had to use three spoons for a shower as I'm feeling wacked out before I start and am now gathering strength to get my breakfast which normally I would use one but I reckon today will be two. Won't leave me much for the rest of the day!
Sorry able it not being able to enlarge I've tried to do it myself since you pointed it out to me. Hopefully someone will come along who can tell us how to do it.
An aside how's the nails doing still going great I hope.
Many people can enlarge their own computer screen with a simple movement of the control area at the bottom of the keyboard. Mine's been frozen for some reason. I just haven't had it looked at.
Acrylic nails: disaster scene: many are loose and a few fell off. I'm waiting for the lady's work week to begin which I believe is Tues. I have a call in for help. Hopefully she was too light on the preparation of my nails and will adjust that this time and will be more successful. Time will tell.
Sorry, Georje, I forgot to say anything about the chart itself!
I can understand your 3 spoons for a shower and then needing to gather strength for breakfast which will now take 2 spoons instead of 1 spoon. I think it's a perfect example of how a seemingly simple start to a day ends up taking too many spoons and leaving you with too little energy to accomplish what you'd like to accomplish with the balance of your day. And this happens so often!
I find that most days have surprises that add tasks (spoons) that are unplanned and unexpected. Lately I have found myself having to just push through the pain (multiple problems including PsA) and the burning of my back muscles (fibro) until I can get to a moment of precious relief. I hope I'm done with that temporary situation. I guess I would call that doing things after the spoons ran out...would you?
