Welcome Vikki, I've just put Balneum cream on my feet, it takes a while to work but it takes the itching away..Hope this is off some use.

Matalow, I've been looking at my bottle of Balneum cream .... I noticed it's 'Balneum Cream Plus'. Is that what you use?

You are quite right, the plus does not stand out on the label very well..

I think it could be the urea that helps,it's a very old fashioned treatment for all sorts of skin problems ie athletes foot ,trench foot etc.

Old fashioned is often good. I actually read the label on the bottle (that's a first!) .... it says that people with psoriasis and other skin conditions may not have enough urea in their skin.

I'm fairly new to severe psoriasis ..... I had it mildly for years and then last year I had a severe flare-up. I've come to the conclusion that each one of us probably has to kiss a lot of treatment frogs before we find our prince. There are just so many options and what works for one may not work for another.

There are basically two approaches in terms of what you apply to the skin .... steroid creams on the one hand and emollient on the other. I've not found a steroid that helps my feet that much .... I think I've been through 3 so far without great improvement. However, on the emollient side of things, balneum cream seems to help elsewhere on my body and I do put it on the feet sometimes. But there's also something called 'heel balm' which my derm seems to think is the business for feet. I think it may be longer lasting than balneum cream which makes sense seeing as feet sweat and are constantly rubbed by socks and footwear.
