Thank you for your answer @diyar99. I understand what you mean by taking it for flare ups and reducing it afterwards. This may be what I will need to do also. My Dr is soon to get back to me about the prednisolone so he may change my treatment. I guess I just need to wait and see what he says. I will take down your email. Thank you

It is important you try out the Prednisolone to see how it affects you first. It is only meant to be a temporary drug until you get on other things, but sometimes you have to stay on it longer. I was on it for seven years but have now been off it three and a half. I had serious depression as a result of it, but only after a while. Just be as positive as you can, and if the Pred ain't for you, you can try something else. Good luck, and get in touch if you need any other information.

Thank you soo much for your reply Tim. Having had leukaemia and also having mastocytosis iam finding it hard to get my head around having behcets and as soon as i read the affects of Pred i got read scared and said im not taking it. I am trying to stay positive but its all alot to take in and i worry about the affect it could have on my 1 and 4 yr old if i start to act strange or am not as loving and playful as i usually am.

I am happy i joined this group i really appreciate your advice and insight.

Anytime Nadine,

Good to talk about things. I understand your fears, but think giving it a go might be a good way of getting short term relief of symptoms and systemic control. Tough one though.

Looks like you have had some bad luck, but keep your head up mate, you are due real luck in the future!

Tim
