Does anyone else suffer from what feels like Erythema Nodosum, from which I have suffered in the past, but without the visible skin lesions?

There is no visible evidence of EN but it feels the same.

Hello,

Yes I understand what you are talking about. I find that basically everything from Behcet's feels the same to me-- I get the burning, stabbing pain that often makes the affected area also feel badly bruised, pretty much with every different skin rash, lesion, blister, ulcer, etc-- and I've also had it occur even without any visible marking or swelling on the skin. Usually what happens with me is the affected area will always start burning and thumping deep inside the tissues, prior to any kind of lesion showing on the surface of the skin; then it will begin swelling and turn red, or sometimes a deep reddish-purple, depending on the rash. Although I have experienced it where I feel an area burning and thumping, and the pain keeps getting worse, but then to my surprise, there was nothing there. I think when this occurs its because the tissues deep inside are being attacked, but not the tissue near the surface of the skin because then otherwise it would be swollen.

I get those on my thighs. Sometimes the red bumps do appear, some other times I only get the painful nodule underneath. I think those are milder attacks of the same kind.

It is but its kind of working. I say kind of cos it worked well for 5 years with only suffering mild symptoms, but I've had a pretty bad flare since the beginning of the year. My neutrophils & WBC plummeted so I had to come off the azathioprine for a while. My symptoms are slowly improving but my bloods are very erratic and I'm absolutely exhausted so much if the time. I'm waiting for a referral to Prof Moots at Aintree. Hopefully he will be able to suggest something different.
