False chlamydia positive

I had tested positive for chlamydia a couple months ago and after realising and taking the test and being on the one week prescribed medication i took another test to make sure that it was all gone, however it came back positive again. I know that there is a chance it’s a false positive but how can i be sure? I’ve reordered the medication online but was also wondering how long after taking the medication should i not be having any sexual activity for?

Retesting for chlamydia should be ideally about 5 weeks post treatment . If you tested again after only 1 week that would be highly likely to be a false positive.

You are most welcome . Of course it is essential that any regular partners are screened and treated also before resuming sex with them.
