i am a girl and I have chlamydia and slept with someone will I definitely have passed it to someone ? he is a new partner and am not sure how to tell him I have it.

You ask an interesting question, but the only information I can find to answer this is based on quite sophisticated mathematical modelling, which is that the estimated risk of transmitting chlamydia between two heterosexual couples is approximately 4.5% per sex act (Althaus & Low, 2011 sti.bmj.com/content/87/Supp....

In simple terms, you'd have to have sex with him more than 20 times to 'definitely' pass it on!

That said, I think most of us would take the sensible option and just tell him that, as a precaution, he should get tested and take the treatment. You should explain that chlamydia is very common, is often silent in women (and maybe that's why you got tested) and is quite easy to treat.
