Can you take combined pill breaks at any stage?

I take my combined pill (Gedarel 30/150) without breaks, to help with extreme cramping and serious anaemia. I take a 5 break when I get breakthrough bleeding. Does this put me at risk of pregnancy? Is there a set 28-day cycle, or is this subjective? Thanks.

It is subjective. The new recommendations are to take the CHC continuously for up to 9 weeks and then have a bleed , or to take until you have a breakthrough bleed and then have a break for 4 days

You are still covered during these breaks for pregnancy.
