Hi, I was on the pill for around 8 years and came off it for 3 months during lockdown. My periods never went back to normal in this time, I've just had some random spotting. I re-started the pill today, how long is it till I am protected? Thanks

After seven days of consecutive pills, on the combined pill. It is hard to say if the spotting is a definite period , so take seven days before unprotected sex.
