Need some advice I went to see my doctor yesterday as I was having side effects with the antibiotics that dermatology told me to go on them and my doctor has to write to them to ask if I can go on anything else as I’m not seeing dermatology until April so I’m worried if my doctor will let me know and if it will be quick how long will it take

Its difficult to say. The letter has to go from the GP out to them, someone reads it and has to reply. Do you have any correspondence from the hospital ? if there is a number on it for the department , you could call them and ask the secretaries to ask the doc for an alternative, they could then contact the GP , hopefully by phone. This would speed the whole process up. I'm a little surprised the GP has to write to ask this, unless its an unusual antibiotic. Once they know what its been prescribed for , a quick internet search will usually provide an alternative.
Hi... From my experience the time it takes for a GP to write, unless it's done via email takes a while... it does at my surgery!... Have you tried to contact your specialist's secretary to make them aware of the situation. Just an idea.
