Itchy anus

What could be wrong when you've been experiencing itchy anus for 3weeks......what medications can be taken pls.

Had a similar thing. Look at my page to see what a doc said but I got some cream and it worked.

Threadworms could cause this especially if you are feeling the symptoms mostly at night.

They are little thread looking worms that lay their eggs around the anus at night.

Look in your morning stool and if you see some take ovex, you can buy it over the counter. You will also need to clean your whole house especially bed sheets in a hot wash to kill eggs. Eggs can live for a long time.

Many possibilities. Skin issues, haemhorroids herpes simplex ( this wouldn't usually last 3 weeks ) threadworms as mentioned below , possibly even gonorrhoea or chlamydia . If you have had anal sex, an sti check is appropriate.
