I have chlamydia and I finished my three tablet treatment but I’m really tempted to take a fourth tablet for extra protection. Is that a bad idea?

I'm confused. The old regime for chlamydia was 1 gram azithromycin - usually 4 caps or tabs of 250mg giving a one dose total. These days in the UK we have switched to doxycycline 100mgs BD for a week due to MGen resistance. What dose are the tablets you are taking ?
