Uti mistaken for chlamidya?

I had severe urine tract infection and was put on nitrofurantoin for a week and the infection didn't clear up then I was given cefalexin for a week and still had an infection. I was told to get tested for Sti which I had to order a home test kit and send off. I was just finishing my periods at the time and was taking cefalexin. I got my results back and tested positive for chlamidya. Could the uti along with the side effects of the antibiotics and the fact I was just finishing my periods mistake the test results for chlamidya when in fact it was a uti?

I don't think so. I think the tests are very specific.

It might be worth having a chat with a practice nurse about all of the current information and how to handle the feelings around this diagnosis.
