Vaginal Thrush?

Hi, I was wondering if I should go see my doctor about thrush or could I just buy it over the counter? I’ve never had it before but recently my perineum has been really dry,red and irritated. I think it could of been caused because I was still quite dry a time my boyfriend and I had sex?

It isn’t always itchy or irritated too. Only sometimes.
