bleeding whilst pregnant??!

Im 6 weeks pregnant, this morning i woke up to vaginal bleeding and in my panties, its reddy brown?, and some blood clots?, ive had a little tummy pain but it has gone away? but comes back occasionally but its not that strong pain?

Dear chelsealou,

You really need to see a doctor right away. Whilst bleeding in pregnancy can be normal it might be a sign of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

If you can't get to see your GP you should go to A&E.

As thegreenhouse say it may be nothing to worry about and part of normal pregnancy. But unless we rule out all other causes of early pregnancy bleeding, we cannot be certain all is going well. In majority of the cases when investigated, it turns out to be normal. In some the bleeding settles on its own but at a later stage we may pick up ectopic pregnancy. Please attend either your GP or AE for further check up.
