Hi, I would be truly grateful for advice. How do you know what food to give your baby... Im frightened he will eat something and have an allergic reaction. How would you know what is safe for your baby?

It is stressful! The doctor I saw suggested any new food rubbed on the skin wait 20 mins , if okay then on the lip , wait 20 mins then inside the mouth, wait 20 mins and then small amount of the food eaten properly and go from there! Good luck

If you look up SR Nutrition on Instagram, she does a great bit on introducing allergens.

Here is a link to her blog post: srnutrition.co.uk/2019/11/i...

Start with a single allergen, small amount, wait a couple days and increase amount x

Thanks for that information. Are those the only foods that can cause allergic reaction? Or could it be anything? I'm looking to phone health visitor tomorrow.

Technically anyone can be allergic to anything but these are the major allergens, it is extremely unlikely your baby would have a severe reaction to anything outside of those listed.

I know it’s daunting but just take your time with them and your confidence will grow as you move along the list xxx

Thank you.. I spoke to my health visitor yesterday and she said the same as you. She also asked if I or my husband have allergies and we don't.. she said it's even more unlikely then... She said obviously if there was a reaction to stop giving that meal go on to something else... And if it's sever to get medical help... But again she said it's unlikely.... And to enjoy the weaning process... 😊 Xxx
