Impending miscarriage.. what to do next?

Hi lovely ladies

We were fortunate enough to have positive pregnancy result from our last frozen embryo but it looks like it’s coming to an end. I had a small amount of bleeding over the weekend and an early scan yesterday (6w + 4days). The consultant said she could see a sac but it was empty. She said we will have to come back next week for another scan but being realistic, the pregnancy isn’t where it should be and be prepared that it will end. So I’m waiting for a miscarriage to happen naturally or an intervention plan. I’ve had a really emotional evening as l was stupid enough to get my hopes up as soon as we saw the positive pregnancy line. Things were really progressing well and my pregnancy symptoms were (and are still) strong.

I have a beautiful 4 year old boy from our first IVF but since then we just haven’t had any luck. We had 2 frozen embryos in 2019 that didn’t thaw. Then in March 2020 a failed cycle with nothing to freeze and December 2020 a failed fresh cycle with this as the frozen embryo.

I keep asking the clinic if there are an any further tests that should be done on my husbands sperm or my eggs to determine why we are not having any luck. The cycle last March was a wasted one as they changed my medication from when we had my son so didn’t produce great results. In the December cycle they put me back on the same medication as I was on in 2016 and seemed to have better results.

I’m really not in a great place to be honest. The worst thing is I have such bad morning sickness as my body still thinks it’s pregnant. Hormones are everywhere!

Thanks in advance.xxx

I saw your message yesterday, you know we're in the same boat, so sending you some great big hugs. It's a rotten time, and the rollercoaster of emotions we've just been on is no joke. I don't think there's anything to be done except put our heads down and get through the waiting. I'm still feeling nausea coming and going too, and I'm really resenting my body getting it so wrong. As for the long term - maybe worth approaching some different clinics for consultation and see what they say, if they'd do anything differently? Big hugs xxx
