I was recently diagnosed with autism as an adult and I am struggling with it - not in terms of having autism but how it has affected my life without me realising in the past and how it might affect me in the future.

I guess the only thing that you can have influence over is the future. And now having the diagnosis you will be able to adjust and adapt in ways that work better for you, or at least will be able to explain why and how something happened and give you an opportunity to make adjustments for the next time.
What is the thing that worries you the most? And is it more just how life couldve panned out if you’d have known/diagnosed earlier?
Thanks for sharing btw
I'm the same I diagnosed last year it's certainly effect my future in terms of work it has always doing dead end jobs
Understandable that this type of realization can be difficult. From what I've read, seems to be some overlap with the grieving process for many people. Hope you have some skilled/trained support people to help you through the process. Also, good that you're reaching out in this community. Lots of support here for you.
I on the waiting list for an autism assessment at the age of 31 and I feel exactly the same. Until I learnt more about autism in females and how we can present differently to males I had no idea that the things I struggle with could be because of being autistic. I think I am noticing my struggles more and finding some situations harder to cope in than before.
