hello dear Members, my mother has SCA2 and has been living with it for 10 + years. I have noticed a sudden deterioration in her cognition and now for past 2 months she is complaining of breathlessness when she lie down. Has anyone else has a similar experience and anything which helped them?

thanks

Breathelessness…shouldn’t be ignored. It’s possibly unrelated to her ataxia diagnosis…she should be seen by her GP.

hi I felt very tired and breathless for a week or so. doctor came out and did all checks. I have a slight heart murmur which she reckons is not the problem but possibly my hiatus hernia . then I realised my preventive inhaler was not working well. with a new one I do feel better. But I am tired still despite usually sleeping well. I find dragging my leaden right leg around does not help and leaning on my zimmer is kicking off my costocondritis. yes I am a staggering wreck😜. Doctor is trying to get an elbow support zimmer. Yes do check all possibilities. Liz
