Have you tried the exercise programme called Make Movement your Mission MMYM via Facebook. 3 x15 minutes daily, but they are recorded. Focusing on all usual movements. I dip into them regularly. eg first one is about circulation and gently gets you going in morning. Sit or stand options
How do I find them

Look for a local Otago class. Or do it at home - huntingdonshire.gov.uk/medi...
🙂Ask your Neurologist…to refer you for NeuroPhysiotherapy.
This is different to general physio, which of course is important and teaches you Core Exercises to help with balance and stability but..NeuroPhysiotherapy teaches you to multitask during movement..and stay safe.
🙂For instance..I was asked to walk in a circle, while answering questions or throwing a ball back and forth.
🙂But there are all sorts of other exercises.
I was seen by a vestibular physiotherapist, she was amazing. I have visually induced dizziness, sun glasses really help.
Hi I was diagnosed with SCA48 back in 2006 and I'm 55, for the last 4-5 years I've been doing daily exercises, balance, strength and cardio. But as for balance get your self a balance mat, they're fairly cheap and easily available on Amazon etc. They're are great for challenging your balance, I use mine for standing for 1 minute eyes closed near a kitchen worktop or similar just in case. Also if you can manage it standing on one leg for 10 seconds, I find hard and can usually only do 5 seconds, but it is good to try and challenge yourself. I also do steps forward with each leg 20 times, not too far because you will lose balance just a foot or so. Then 20 side steps on each leg. Finally very important is core strength! I use my mat to rest my elbows on to avoid carpet burns 🤣. Do the plank exercise, start with less time maybe 30 seconds and as your core strengthens you can increase, I do 2 minutes 45 seconds. This is most important for stability and is vital for ataxians.
Good luck and remember everything helps however little.
The Book of Balance by Lex Gonzales has lots of graded exercises in. Seated as well up to difficult. Not specifically for ataxia but lots of different variations. I get bored, after 10 years of exercises who wouldn't but found this the other day and forgot I had it. The problem with exercising on your own is motivation. No ideas about that though.
