Tremors that only appear during an action. Drinking, eating, shaving, using scissors, holding a toothbrush etc, using a keyboard, putting a key into a keyhole, tying shoelaces. . I have no tremors while resting. Massive, only in the sense that the problem is debilitating in the extreme.

Yes it must be debilitating, you poor thing. Have you asked your neurologist, maybe able to give you medication? How long have you been suffering and have you had blood tests taken for antineurononal antibodies. Maybe if you have to wait a long time for next appointment then a call to the secretary or the Neurology department at the hospital is needed. If no luck there then tell your gp.

We should not have to put up with this.

Good luck.

Just as references, please ask your neurologist if any of these meds and therapies may help: Tremor or Rest Tremor: Amantadine, Botulinum toxin Shots, Carbamazepine, Clonazepam, Deep Brain Stimulation, Flunarizine, Gabapentin (Neurontin), Isoniazid, Levetiracetam, Levodopa (carbidopa-levodopa, Sinemet), NAC (N-acetylcysteine) Ondansetron (Zofran), Pramipexole (Mirapex), Primidone, Propranolol, Ropinirole (Requip), Topiramate, Valproic Acid (Depakote). Can't get to see your Neurologist, then see your GP and ask him what helps Parkinson shakes, so much more common. Neuro is only giving you Parkinson meds anyway.

Thank you for the reply. Not all tremors are the same. Parkinson’s tremors are different from those caused by Cerebellar Ataxia. They have a different source, and respond to medication differently.
