Only specific SCA’s were included in this trial..SCA1 SCA2 SCA3 SCA6 SCA7 SCA8 SCA10

Only SCA3 showed significant improvement

Troriluzole hasn’t yet been approved

Jeremy Schmahmann, M.D., Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and Founding Director of the Ataxia Center at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) commented with regard to the findings, "The importance of morbidity related to falls in this patient population cannot be overstated. The reduction of falls in the troriluzole group, combined with the progression of f-SARA scores in the untreated SCA3 group compared to SCA3 patients on troriluzole, demonstrates that SCA3 patients are experiencing a clinically meaningful improvement in ataxia symptoms on troriluzole treatment."

It treats symptoms only and not the underlying problem also the number of adverse events is quite high especially if you look back on older studies. BioHaven has spent literally millions upon millions trying to make this drug pay off for them. My opinion: this is a disgusting display of Western Medicine focusing on profit rather than benefit. Trehalose anyone????

Lots of people making lots of money while they (allegedly) try to find cures........

neuralink.com/. I like this the best, so far. :) A bunch of science nerds who are actually working on helping thousands of individuals who have no hope. I for one hope they make a lot of money at it. Tired of throwing money at nerds who are more interested in studying the disease rather than solving it. Just my 2 cents. :)
