I slipped on the ice and fell backwards hitting the back of my head HARD on the ice. Felt like a railroad spike went through the back of my head. I have some of the same signs/symptoms of ataxia but was finally diagnosed with MS. One has to wonder.

Hi yes I fell backwards and hit back of head on a stone table - blood and ambulance involved!

I’ve had MS for 20 years, but was managing...was diagnosed with ataxia after the fall and have been going downhill at a rate of knots ever since...

Where u diagnosed after a wallop to the back of the head?

I havnt had another MRI to assess damage, but assume my c rapid decline is due to a combination of both

After over two years and finally someone willing to talk to me, not to mention the spine and two brain MRI's, oops I just did, the likely cause of my condition was being pushed backwards off the steps at Cannon Street station in London, the back of my head hit Cannon street before the rest of me did, I maybe blacked out at the time for a couple of seconds, but I got up with the help of a couple of guys, I carried on working for quite some time before the symptoms really took over. It cant be proven though as I sailed through all other tests, but the damage is done to my cerebellar.

You know what people say about hind site, but I didn't go directly to hospital and from what I understand now the damage was done and it cant be undone. But, I was a little p****ed off! Or on a bad day I still am. I think knowing helps at least to start to put together a new sort of life!
