HI EVERYONE , Does anyone use or have tried any FM -LISTENING DEVICE to improve hearing loss/ muffled sounds in FA . My 20yr old son can never UNDERSTAND what someone says if there is even a little noise. THANKS KAREN .

Karen, I used to be like this. I'm 73 - no excuse. I used NHS hearing aids and would try to join in conversations but their speech was, as you say, muffled so I never got into socialising. And being in a restaurant was hopeless trying to understand what my friend was talking about.

In the post one came a notice about hearing aids so I got involved. Only have one but the difference is unbelievable. Expensive, yes, but I can understand the telly speakers, hear who's on the phone and who's walking on the pavement behind me. Worth a try maybe

These are non-NHS aids? Could you post a link or a brand name maybe? Ta very much.

MI'm the same - imposssible to socialise in a pub or restaurant.

Hi Karen. Hearing aids can be very expensive but I have bought a hearing amplifier for about £20. It helps with the tv (my wife always used to complain that it was too loud). It does not help if actors talk too fast as I have difficulty to comprehend them but at least I can now hear them! ~ Bob
