Epilepsy and ataxia
Hi Guy😊
Many years ago, I started experiencing deja vous episodes and had a seizure in my sleep. This happened before other ataxia symptoms appeared and I was diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.
Twenty years later when I finally had an MRI showing Cerebellar Atrophy, that along with other symptoms, gave me a diagnosis of SCA and the previous diagnosis was dismissed, I'd had that one seizure.

Hi Guy my husband has had epilepsy for many years and has recently been diagnosed with attaxia possibility secondary to his medication I.e. it might be causing his attaxia. I am not so sure neurologist is right but thats another story. What medication are you on? my husband was taking lamotrogine and oxycarbimazipine but neurologist recently changed it as he felt it was poisoning Andy and making him attaxic. Now on zibinix and now husband like you is having bad grand malseizures. Previously seizure free! Very distressing for him and for you! So sorry you are having a difficult time it is very distressing but keep going. Our springer is great but not as attentive as your dog I am sure he/she isa great comfort Lisa
