Does anyone know if they have been tested to be Rombergs positive (the inability to to stand still with feet together and eyes shut)?
Rombergs test: Does anyone know if they have been... - Ataxia UK
Rombergs test
i haven't been tested lain but I just tried it I was going every were
yes, lots of times................ why
I have - lots of times.
Yes, and that's when I was diagnosed with sensory ataxia. It signifies that you are losing your proprioception.
Yes I have twice could not stand properly let alone feet in front of each other failed on all counts. 😩
I only found out about Rombergs after I googled it. No Neurologist had mentioned it to me but I've had this test many times. I also believe its not a definitive test for Cerebellar Ataxia. I wobble/sway when I stand still, feet together with eyes open. When I close my eyes I find it much harder to stay balanced without having to open eyes again. I guess this means that I am Rombergs positive? Having said that, I don't know what a 'false positive' result means?
I have as well and I start to sway alot....My physio has told me to do exercise where I do this.
I have tested Romberg positive, however I believe that this is often because people feel unsteady with ataxia rather than a true positive....
Not sure if that helps...
Sounds about right Missile. But what do you think a true positive is?
No one ever mentioned Rombergs but I have done the test many times. Always swayed all over the place!

Yes I have Rombergs each time I see ENT specialist. Eyes open is bad enough, eyes shut impossible with SCA6
