Never seen one as. Can't imagine they'd help too much. High cocoa chocolate (daily and sparingly) is supposed to help as is keeping mentally busy and doing crosswords etc ?

I had seen a Neuropsychologist who knew I had a problem with memory among other things but nothing was followed up after three sessions I had with her. I received no feedback information from her and gave up any hope of further help. I'm sure there are many different psychological memory test that can be performed to increase memory recall and help overcome some memory loss at least

I haven't asked to see one, I don't think I would respond politely.

For a while I was able to manage Suduko, and I thought it helped.

But crosswords are a different kettle of fish:-( xB

I've not seen one either.

Crosswords and reading are a no-no, get blurred vison and dizzyness and feeling sickly.

Hi I went on this web site when I was having a lot of problems with balance and falling. I have Hughes syndrome which really affects my memory, may be worth taking a look at that site it's on here anyway blood thinners improved memory a bit but balance was improved by taking hydroxychloroquine

good luck

It was suggested that exercise, physical was good for memory too

Hi daisyd

I am delighted those medications have helped you. However, the medications you have found beneficial for symptoms related to Hughes Syndrome may not have the same effect in the same symptoms in a patient with ataxia.

I would like to stress these medications can be dangerous if not advised and prescribed by a doctor and used properly. Proper medical advice should be sought.

Best Wishes

Harriet

Dear Quessy123, I've never seen a neuropsychologist, although at 60 years young, I tend to blame some of my forgetfulness on my age. Also, as I have to think about every movement I make 24/7 with ataxia, my brain is probably over-loaded...,ha! Just my theory. Seriously, I do take a multi-vitamin, fish oil caps, flax oil cap, CoQ10, vitamin B-12 and vitamin D-3 daily, per my neuro. As Harriet stated, NEVER take anything without consulting your doctor first! ;o)

I know I forget things but, people are too busy with whatever to bother about that. Having said that, I could do with an expert explaining about vitamins and what I need to keep my joints supple

I saw a neuropychologist last year and had a series of memory tests. My memory is often really bad - used to be so good. I often can't recall conversations, situations, how to do something that i don't do regularly. It's just like a black hole and I try so hard to remember! I drive all my family up the wall with it lol :O

I did discuss with the doctor at the clinic the results of my tests. She said that my brain has to work so hard just to do the physical things that others do naturally that my brain is too tired to remember everything. Apart from a worn out brain she says there are no more serious memory problems

If I don't write down things that I have to do or am dooing/waiting for, I'd be in a right pivkle as my memory is getting worse as every month passes :-)

I have notes all over my bungalow with times and date on them...once done they are thrown in the wastee bin - if I remember
