I googled wet-rooms, and did you know you can get a body dryer? See if you qualify. xB

The wet room attached to the ward I was on at the RVI was medium sized and it had a body dryer..............................................................a toewl ;-)

Only joking, I know what you mean I think.

This would be better than a towel, especially if your strength/mobility is restricted. If you've already tried it out, what did you think of it? The downside is, it might send your electric bill

sky high! xB

in reply to wobblybee

The electric is off so I'm using my mobile to reply which takes even harhder concentratoion. The wet room did not have one of those dryer ghingy's. They sound as if they willl use up a lot of electric :-0

Sorry John, I realise my mistake, must have been a senior moment! Definitely

cheaper to stick with a towel. Hope your electric is back on soon. We've had several mini power cuts recently, I hope it's not a taste of what's to come! xB

It's amazing what can be done to make things easier! You sound very thrilled, and well you should be! ;o)

Hello february,

Not so much excited as hopeful. I've still got to fond out if I'm allowed to have one. But I do hoppe so, it would make washing/showeringg myslef that much easier & safer.

Hi John!

Interesting info for you, if you didn't already know.

This morning I went to The Dene Centre at South Gosforth. What a great place!

To save me from boring you, just google it. The point is, they have examples of

what's available re the wet room. With other Volunteers, I had an appt with an

Occupational Therapist and another person who advises on Welfare Rights etc.

They were both lovely, and I intend to go back for a better look around the show

room. xB

Sounds interesting stuff. You must be a mind reader :-O

I`ve just ben on the telephone to Gateshead Adviec Centre and my caseworker is arragning dates to come and visit me regarding said wet room. And today I had a another telephone call from phsyio`s who have arranged something similar - can`t remember exactly what they said but it was to do with wet room and myself. They must have been talking amongst themselves after last visit to my house, one of them is visiting tomorrow at 2.30pm but it`s not a physio` something to do with other side or something....I forget.

If they didn`t write it down, well, you know.................

Benn very warm today, had fan on full blast, sweating like crzy, windows fully opne, phew...

Hi John,

Best wishes with getting the wet room. I have one at the sheltered housing centre where I live, and although I don't have the difficulties some do, rfeally enjoy the wet room - it is amazing. To be able to sit down comfortably and enjoy a shower - wonderful.

In the meantime, enjoy the tap :)

Thanks Wyndham. :-)

John, you'll never guess what I looked at today. I'm helping my Uncle to get rehoused,

and we went to look at a bungalow. It had a wet room! xB

in reply to wobblybee

I've looked at these online and they look big. My bathrooms just average size. So might not qualify.
