I went to the Basingstoke Conference. It was my first time at an Ataxia event and I found it very informative. Everyone was friendly and you were soon at your ease. Good format, although I thought the doctor panel q&a went on too long, was very specific to a certain kind of ataxia, but generally very good. Also I think the video should have been shown earlier in the day as by the time it was shown everyone seemed rather weary. Lovely staff at Holiday Inn and I think the price of the day was OK considering what we got included in the day.

hi wiobblymum thankyou for your feedback, i missed the doctors q and a what ataxia was it focused on? Friedreichs or cerebella? they should try to keep it generally or else they alienate half the people but i guess it depends whats asked i guess. which video was shown? i missed that 2 sorry. maybe they should've done it as an opener? the cost thing was more to do with the annual conference which is in october, at manchester hotel this year i believe, people tend to stay over there cos they have evening stuff like a meal and disco too, but the venue its held in puts the price up which is disscouraging many from going, their looking into other options but cant promise anything. glad you enjoyed the basingstoke conference

Hi Nikki

I think that you will fing that, as regards the national conference, a venue is required that can accomodate over 200 delegates and be wheelchair friendly with plenty of adapted rooms available and adequate parking. That somewhat limits the options.~ Bob
